On August 15, Nokia launched its budget-friendly Android device Nokia 5 in India. Unfortunately, Nokia 5 featured only 2GB RAM and it disappointed many Nokia fans.

Looks like HMD owned Nokia is listening to the user feedback as out of nowhere they have come out with a new Nokia 5 handset that features 3GB RAM in India. We are as surprised as you are. There has been no official announcement or any rumor that such a device even exists.

But the news is true as the device is officially listed on the E-com giant, Flipkart in India. The new device will go on sale from midnight today. Other than RAM, all other specifications are same for the new Nokia 5. And obviously, the price of the new device is different from the old one. While the Nokia 5 with 2GB RAM is priced at INR 12,949, the new one with 3GB RAM costs 13,499.

To recap, Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD resolution. It is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass display. Inside, the phone packs 3GB RAM and 16GB memory with a dedicated SD card slot that allows expandable storage up to 128GB. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit Processor powers the device.

In terms of optics, you get a 13MP rear camera with Phase detection autofocus and f/2. On the front, you get 8MP selfie shooter. The dual SIM VoLTE enabled smartphone uses 3000mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1. Like other Nokia phones, Nokia 5 with 3GB will also be upgraded to Android Oreo.

The device will come in two color options of Matte Black and Tempered Blue. It includes almost all sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC.

Meanwhile, Nokia recently announced its most affordable phone in India, the Nokia 2. 4G VoLTE enabled Nokia 2 features a 5-inch 720p display coupled with Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. Nokia has also started registrations for Oreo beta for Nokia 8 device. Besides that, Samsung has also pushed Oreo beta for S8 and S8+ users and OnePlus is also testing Oreo beta build on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users.
