March 19, 2019: Android 9 Pie update is now rolling out to the Nokia 5 and 5.1 alongside the latest Android security patch for March 2019.
January 24, 2019: HMD has commenced the official Nokia 5 Android 9 Pie update as promised. The company, in an official Pie update roadmap, revealed that Pie would be ready for the 2017 Nokia 5 this week and indeed, as usual, Juho Sarvikas has taken to Twitter to make this news official, as seen below.
