Alongside the launch of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge at MWC 2015 earlier in March, Samsung also announced a new mobile payment system Samsung Pay which was one of the most highlighting features of the new device. But as it turns out, it is more of a marketing thing at this time. Samsung Pay is not available yet. And it will only be released in Korea and USA first, while other countries will get Samsung Pay later in the year.

So if you were expecting to use Samsung Pay out of the box, you’d be disappointed. There’s no Samsung Pay app installed on Galaxy S6 devices right now, Samsung will push out an OTA or just might make the app available via the Galaxy Apps store later.

If you are planning on getting a Galaxy S6 or S6 edge particularly for the Samsung Pay feature, and you’re in no hurry to get a new phone, then you might want to wait until the service is available in your country.

For the unknown, Samsung Pay is kind of a breathrough mobile payment system which basically works with all credit/debit card payment terminals, no need for special NFC equipped machines or such, just taking your Galaxy S6 near to any credit card terminal would do the job. Payment will be made.
