[icon name=”hand-o-right” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] How to Root Android 6.0.1
Google rolled out the Android 6.0.1 OTA update to Nexus 6 devices earlier yesterday, however, most of you haven’t updated yet either because the OTA didn’t reach your your device yet OR you couldn’t install an OTA because you’re rooted.
Android 6.0.1 first rolled out for Android One devices. It’s of course a bug fix update with only a few changes like faster copy/paste as compared to the slight lag on 6.0.
We still don’t have full changelog of Android 6.0.1 builds though. Also, Google hasn’t officially announced the update yet for Nexus devices. But thanks to Laquan W. (LQ) over at Google+, we at-least know the build number of Nexus 6.0.1 OTA update — MMB29K.
Since Nexus 6 6.0.1 OTA is very slowly rolling out, and the fact that Google hasn’t released the Android 6.0.1 factory images either yet, is probbaly the reason why we don’t have a 6.0.1 root already with us for the Nexus 6.
Nexus 6 6.0.1 root won’t be tougher of course, Chainfire’s modified boot OR systemless root, both methods should work pretty good. We recently covered Android One 6.0.1 root, and it was reportedly working flawlessly.
For those of you already on Nexus 6 6.0.1 MMB29K build and waiting for a working rooting method, please have patience. We believe Chainfire will release 6.0.1 root once factory images are available for the same.
We would be sure to update this post once Nexus 6 6.0.1 root is available. Stay tuned..
