After its premature listing of the Nexus 4 smartphone had to be revoked the same day, Carphone Warehouse has it back up for pre-order on its website, now that Google has officially announced the phone on Monday.

As opposed to the delivery date of October 30th we had seen the last time it was erroneously listed, Carphone Warehouse is now offering the same delivery date as everyone else – November 13th.  Carphone Warehouse, or CPW as it’s called, one of the top retailers in the UK, has not listed any off-contract pricing like earlier. Google Play pricing starts at  £239 sim-free for the 8GB version, and contract-based options available start at  £31 per month with  Vodafone and O2, with the Nexus 4 being offered for free.

Considering the exceptionally attractive sim-free pricing being offered on Google Play, getting customers to go on contract with a minimum monthly commitment might prove to be a bit of a challenge for the carriers. But let’s wait and watch what surprises come up over the next fortnight.
