The successor to the hugely popular Redmi Note 3 from Xiaomi will be up for a flash sale again on February 22, Wednesday, as we got to learn from a tweet from Xiaomi’s VP, Manu Kumar Jain. The smartphone will be sold through online outlets, Flipkart.com and Xiaomi’s own website, Mi.com.
In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 4 hasn’t changed much from the previous gen device. With the RAM getting a bump to 4GB and the non-removable battery going up to 4100mAh, these seem to be the only actual upgrades. The smartphone also feels a lot more premium this time with chamfered edges.
The processor on the other hand seems to be the Snapdragon 625 which can be considered somewhat of a downgrade as the Redmi Note 3 was powered by the Snapdragon 650 processor. Xiaomi claims that the reason that they’ve chosen this processor is that it will benefit battery life given the Snapdragon 625’s power efficiency (as if 4100mAh wasn’t enough juice already). The camera too seems to have gone down from 16MP to 13MP.
