It seems a new Android device from Samsung’s stable, called “Jasper” and carrying the model number of SCH-I200, is coming to Verizon, sporting the powerful dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The information on the phone was posted on GLBenchmark, which also indicates that the I200 will be running Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3.
A Snapdragon S4 processor would suggest a high-end device, but the 800×480 screen resolution would make it a mid-end device, as all the high-end phones these days all offer HD screens. However, the S4 processor has been proven to be the new leader in Android processors, so the performance of the phone certainly won’t be lacking. Also, given the Qualcomm processor, 4G LTE connectivity wouldn’t be a bad bet either.
Here’s hoping this isn’t a differently flavoured Galaxy S3 offering Verizon will make, but is instead some other device joining the ranks at Verizon.
