Remember S Voice? Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Siri? Introduced with the Galaxy S3 last year, the voice assistance app has naturally made its way to the Galaxy S4 as well, and thanks to Sammobile the new version from the Galaxy S4 is now available for download.
With S Voice, you can perform a whole of different tasks using your voice. Examples include updating your Twitter status, setting up schedules, looking up info on the web, opening apps or toggling general settings like Wi-Fi, message and call a contacts, and more. There doesn’t seem to be anything new compared to the Galaxy S3, but I guess that isn’t necessary when it can already so much.
S Voice wasn’t as accurate as Google Now in my testing, though it certainly is fast at carrying out actions. It can be installed manually just like any other app, and for those that aren’t familiar with manually installing apps, there’s a step-by-step guide below. It should work on any device on Android 4.0 and above.
Go ahead and hit the link below to download the new S Voice from the Galaxy S4.
How to Install S Voice
- Download S Voice’s APK file from the download link above.
- Copy the downloaded file to your device.
- Enable “Unknown sources” under the Settings » Security menu on the device, so that you can manually install apps from the SD card. On Android 4.2, you’ll have to first unhide the Developer options menu by going into Settings » About phone then clicking on the Build Number field seven times.
- You’ll need a file manager to browse through SD Card. You can install OI file manager or ES File Explorer or any other file manager app from the Play Store if needed.
- Open file manager and navigate to where you transferred the APK file. Tap on the file to begin installation procedure and it will be installed in less than a minute.
- S Voice is now installed and can be accessed via the app drawer on your device.
