After the OnePlus 5 and 5T, new Open Beta updates are now rolling out to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Like the former pair, the updates to the 3 and 3T are smaller in nature, but they bring some pretty impressive changes, among them removing the controversial Clipboard app, adding gesture controls and fixing several other bugs.

Here’s the full changelog:

Phone

  • Added pick-up gesture switcher
  • Added SMS categorization function for India only

System

  • Removed Clipboard function
  • Applied CPU security patch: CVE-2017-13218
  • General bug fixes and improvements

As expected, the most contested change here is the removal of the Clipboard app, but according to OnePlus, this change was made following feedback collected from not just OnePlus 3 and 3T users, but also those using the newer OnePlus 5 and 5T.

The new updates also come with another interesting addition: the CPU patch CVE-2017-13218, which Google had confirmed to be part of the January 2018 Android security patch. As usual, the updates, which come as Open Beta 31 for the OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 22 for the OnePlus 3T, also adds performance enhancements and system stability.
