Wow. Don’t you think after Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson had their upcoming devices well placed in the rumor mill of ‘upcoming android phones in early 2011’, it’s about time Motorola and HTC — the top duo to profit from android, apart from the Google itself — had their phones too share some of the leaked/rumor/said-to-be limelight?

No word about HTC, but someone surely felt the need to highlight Motorola’s upcoming android phone. Guys, the latest rumor has flown in and it talks about the Motorola Olympus, an Android 2.2 phone (2.2.1 to be exact)with a new version of Motorola’s custom UI, Motoblur 4.0.1450. But the most exciting feature of this phone is its processor, a brand new dual-core nVidia Tegra 2 chip that’s also said to empower LG’s flagship android phone, the LG Star. That apart, AT&T is said to grab it for launch in the last week of January 2011.

BUT, just don’t be too much sure of this phone, its name or specs outlined here, since after all, it’s just one rumor. And that too without any pics, FCC filings, Logos, nothing. But you know us, we won’t tell you about about it unless we believed in it, and it’s source.

BTW, even further remote rumors about the phone has it that it will be launched on multiple carriers and might become Verizon’s first 4G LTE device. A front facing camera is also rumored and for the design, it’s said to be shorter than Droid X, so maybe it will get a 4.0 inch display.

Now, unless LG is able to bring the Star before the last week of January, the Motorola Olympus might become the first phone to feature nVidia’s much-hyped dual-core Tegra 2 processor. Why much-hyped? Because there is no phone right now powered by a dual-core processor — though, Samsung’s getting its upcoming phones Nexus S and Galaxy 2 with one — and that, nVidia being a graphic card maker in spirit, gaming/video performance of its Tegra 2 processor is expected to be simply of ‘no-match’. In very distant rumors, it’s said that Tegra 2 phones might get exclusive games too. Whoa!

So, what and what do you guys think of Motorla Olympus? Does the Olympus, not being a pre-loaded android 2.3 Gingerbread phone lets you down, since Samsung might get such a phone (probably, Nexus S) in January? What about HTC hiding its upcoming phones, are they too busy playing with the new Windows phone 7 baby? And finally, who among you is desperate to give a Tegra 2 processor phone a shot?
