What to know

  • Version 1.2 introduces multiple character slots for the first time
  • You can now create up to six characters on a single account
  • Character switching happens directly from the title screen
  • Each character keeps separate progress, gear, and story choices

Right from beginning, Version 1.2, Where Winds Meet removes one of its most restrictive launch limitations. Multi-character support is now fully integrated, changing how you experiment with builds, appearances, and early-game decisions.

How character slots worked before version 1.2

Once you committed to that character, there were no in-game options to reset, delete, or start fresh. Before the 1.2 update, Where Winds Meet only allowed one character per account in the global version.

  • You couldn’t create a second character within your account.
  • There was no in-game way to delete your current character.
  • If you wanted to start over, you had to either create a new account or request deletion of your existing character data via customer support.

How multiple character slots work in version 1.2

The update introduces a dedicated multi-character interface that appears immediately when you launch the game.

Creating new characters from the title screen

You’ll now see several empty slots alongside existing characters. Selecting an empty slot takes you straight into character creation, letting you build a completely new Wanderer without affecting your existing progress.

Character appearance reuse

Community-created tools and scripts allow you to save appearance presets, making it easier to recreate or refine designs across multiple slots without starting from scratch.

Switching between guidance & difficulty modes

Each time you launch the game, you choose which character to log into. Story progress, equipment, and choices remain tied to that character only, while account-level benefits remain accessible.

Known issues to be aware of

Some players reported temporary UI glitches shortly after launch, including the character creation option briefly disappearing. These appear to be rollout-related issues and are being addressed through patches.

Why character slots matter for long-term play

Multiple character slots significantly expand how you can engage with the game:

  • You can test different builds without risk
  • Early story paths can be replayed with new decisions
  • Visual and roleplay experimentation no longer costs progress
  • Difficulty and pacing feel more flexible

This update removes a major barrier that previously forced players into permanent choices far too early. Version 1.2’s character slot system brings Where Winds Meet in line with modern RPG expectations. While character deletion is still missing, the ability to maintain multiple characters on one account is a major step forward for flexibility and replay value.
