If you've watched Genshin Impact's latest livestream, you have probably seen the newest addition to the game's ever-growing roster: Nefer. We will have you know, she's not a typical Dendro character.
She doesn't just make Dendro Cores but also re-engineers them into her personal power source. She is a very demanding on-field Dendro DPS whose entire kit is one big, elegant loop. Your job with Nefer is to think like an artist.
You need to generate a specific resource, convert it, consume it for buffs, and then cash in with a massive attack.
The Foundation: Trading Cores for Power
Nefer's game revolves around a new reaction: Lunar-Bloom. When she's on your team, all regular Bloom reactions turn into Lunar-Bloom. This new reaction deals more damage the higher her Elemental Mastery (EM) is, so stacking EM makes each hit stronger. Here’s the key: Lunar-Bloom does more than explode. When Nefer uses her Elemental Skill, she enters Shadow Dance. In this state, any Dendro Cores or Bountiful Cores on the field instantly become Seeds of Deceit. These Seeds won’t burst or trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon. Instead, they wait to be absorbed.
The Core Rotation: Slither, Consume, and Stack
Nefer is all about her Charged Attack.
Activate: You start by using her Elemental Skill. This is a quick charge forward that enters you into the Shadow Dance state and transforms any existing Cores into Seeds of Deceit. Her Skill has two charges, giving you flexibility.
Consume: While in Shadow Dance (and with enough Verdant Dew), your standard Charged Attack is replaced by the special move, Phantasm Performance. This is your main on-field damage ability. When you use it, Nefer absorbs all nearby Seeds of Deceit.
Buff: Each Seed you absorb gives her a Veil of Falsehood stack. When you reach 3 stacks, Nefer’s Elemental Mastery jumps up by 100 EM for a good amount of time. This is the main idea: you turn Seeds on the field into a big, temporary stat boost.
Here's a handy little trick. When you use her standard Charged Attack, she enters a Slither state, where she moves quickly like a snake. Crucially, using her Skill or sprinting will not cancel this state, which is great for repositioning mid-combo.
The Grand Finale: Unleash the Burst
Nefer's Elemental Burst is the payoff for all your hard work. It deals a massive amount of AoE Dendro damage. The damage increases a lot when you use up all your Veil of Falsehood stacks. It’s best to save your Burst until you have many Veils, since you trade your damage buff for one big attack.
The Golden Rule: EM is Your ATK
Her final scaling passive is what makes her unique: the stat you need to chase is Elemental Mastery. For every point of EM Nefer has over 500, her ATK goes up by 0.4, up to 200 extra ATK. So, you want to reach 1000 EM to get the most reaction damage and the full 200 ATK bonus. Stacking EM boosts both her reactions and her base damage. In short, your combat flow is: Teammates generate Cores → Nefer's Skill converts them to Seeds → Charged Attacks consume Seeds to gain EM → Once EM is high, use Burst for massive damage.
Characters That Can Synergize With Her:
