At the MWC 2015 tech show, Alcatel announced the launch of a unique smartphone called OneTouch Idol 3 that managed to gain the attention of all. The highlight of this device is a unique capability that makes it fully reversible.
In terms of specifications, the OneTouch Idol 3 comes in two sizes as mentioned above. The larger 5.5 inch model is more powerful with a 64 bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. The screen is a Full HD 1080p IPS panel and there is 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of default memory capacity that can be expanded further up to 128 GB.
The device packs a 13 MP main camera with LED flash and an 8 MP front facing selfie snapper is also onboard. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the OneTouch Idol 3 5.5 inch comes with a 2,910 mAh battery and uses connectivity aspects such as 4G LTE, NFC and other standard features.
On the other hand, the 4.7 inch variant of the OneTouch Idol 3 boasts a 4.7 inch IPS HD 720p display and is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor. There is a 5 MP front facer and a 2,000 mAh battery energizing this smartphone.
Talking of software, both the smartphones come with Android 5.0 Lollipop and the OneTouch Stream that provides weather information, short timeline of upcoming appointments, recommended wallpapers, top news, features apps and others on swiping the home screen towards left. It is preloaded with some applications and Gameloft games as well.
The OneTouch Mix app provides a virtual DJ check, crossfading, auto or manual mixing and disc scratching for enhanced audio features. The camera has features such as HDR, panorama, time lapse, barcode scanner, manual mode and face beautification with FotoNation’s fast face detection software.
Well, the highlight is that this smartphone can be picked up and talked with the top side down. Also, there are dual front facing speakers for entertainment purposes.
Alcatel has launched two variants of the OneTouch Idol 3 – a 4.7 inch model and a 5.5 inch one priced at €200 and €250 respectively.
