Google Nexus is one of the much reputed Android device line-up that comes with the latest Android version during the launch and get regular updates directly from Google. However, to cut the manufacturing cost, Google partners with other manufacturers to produce the Nexus devices. But Google always keeps track of the design and quality of these devices as these form the Google’s home-bred Flagship line-up. But this time it looks the upcoming Nexus device is going to be more of a Moto than a Nexus. You might be wondering why we are assuming that, right? Look at the latest picture of the alleged Nexus device and you’ll say it yourself.
Appearing as a mammoth Moto X, the device in the picture is indeed the alleged pictures of the upcoming Nexus 6/Nexus X device with the codename Shamu as released by the folks at 9to5Google. The device in the picture share the design attributes similar to the Moto X with very minor tweaks to adapt to the gigantic 5.92 inch screen. As you know, Google is of the Fish named code names and Shamu is the long-rumored code-name of the Nexus device which might be named either as Nexus 6 or the Nexus X. Resembling the Codename Shamu, which is a Spot whale, the Nexus device boasts a voluptuous screen size of 5.92 inch which will be the biggest of Nexus Smartphone family.
The device is rumored to get a sharp display with Quad HD display which will surely match the bigger display. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Processor, the device will host a 3 GB RAM and 32-GB internal storage. As far as the camera is concerned, it will be a 13-MP shooter at the back and a 2 MP selfie shooter at the front. But considering the flagship devices like the LG G3, Galaxy S5, HTC M8, we believe that the Nexus device will draw the edge if it is equipped with at least 16 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front facing camera as the other flagship devices are already equipped with the similar camera capacity.
Google has the streak of releasing the Nexus devices along with its latest Android update out of the box. Considering the fact that the Android L might see the day light in mid-October, we are hoping that the Nexus flagship will also be announced along with the much awaited Android L update. At the bottom line, we still wonder why the device looks more of the Moto than the aesthetic Nexus design. The only visual change we observe is the position of the Volume and Power buttons which are placed at the center which is much essential for a device with a Whale-sized screen.
Anyway, we hope that the device will be out soon with the latest Android L update out-of-the box.
