Call it insane — but the rumor mill suggests the existence of a more than dream-come-true Motorola android tablet which is said to feature quad-core based NVidia Tegra 3 processor called Kal-EI, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (it does intends to become the first tablet featuring the upcoming OS, eh!) and a super duper high resolution of 2048 x 1536 in the 4:3 ratio. And it’s thinner too, at least than Xoom.
That screams, right? We’re not sure whether to hold our breadth for this or not, but it has already conquered our naïve minds. It’s said that the Motorola already has some test units out “for a while” which means that it could very well be in testing phase and that the launch this year is possible, too.
The world knows that Motorola launched the Android 3.0 honeycomb OS with its Xoom tablet so it remains a puzzle why Google would prefer Motorola again for the launch of first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet when: 1) Samsung’s shown it with Tab 10.1 how an android tablet is made, and 2) Motorola failed to impress with Xoom. But hey, it’s Motorola, the maker of Droid and that’s why we have lots of respect for the company and won’t rue even a little bit if Motorola gets the flagship tablet for new Android version, yet again. But let this rumor be true in first place!
While the quad-core processor looks like a reasonable deal — even Amazon and Asus have already been linked with it — and the Android 4.0 onboard is digestible too (flagship tablet or not), but the presence of ultra high 2048 x 1536 resolution make it a tablet from another world, or at least this rumor.
What do you think are the chances of this rumor actually turning out to be true? Let us know your thoughts in comments below.
