First it came to us as Moto C and then as Moto X 2017, but in reality it is the Moto X4. Wait, what? It just can’t get more confusing. To put it straight, the 2017 Moto X smartphone from Motorola will be officially named as Moto X4. Now in a way it makes sense to name it as X4 as it will be the Moto X 4th gen.
This is the first time we have spotted the 2017 version of Moto X being called as Moto X4 and the leak comes from known tipster Evan Blass via his Twitter handle. Now, a lot has been said and written about the upcoming Motorola phone Moto X 2017, err, we mean Moto X4. Here’s a round up of all that we know about the device so far.
The most prominent feature of Moto X4 is its SoC which is touted to be the recently released Snapdragon 660 with octa-core CPU promising to be much faster. This will be paired with Adreno 512 GPU. As the SD 660 is a processor meant to power upper mid-range phones, the Moto X4 should belong in that category and sport a a 5.5-inch display with a 3D glass on top instead of the regular 2.5 curved glass. Thus, we will be seeing a more curved Motorola phone.

The Moto X4 will pack in 4GB RAM and run Android Nougat out of the box. The phone features an impressive 3800mAh battery with Turbo charging. The phone will also sport dual rear cameras with dual LED flash. Other features include a front fingerprint scanner and a full metal body. Interestingly, it should come with AI integration.
Although not a flagship phone, with all these specs the Moto X4 surely sits below it in the premium range category. As Motorola has not put its stamp on any of these specifications, we would advice you take these with a bit of a caution. Nevertheless, most of it have been leaked via a video presentation of Moto X4 in China which looks quite legit. Whatever be the case, we believe the curtains will soon be lifted off the device and Motorola will soon release it officially. Till then, stay tuned!
