Motorola has a reputation for making dependable, entry-level smartphones, and the company is looking to extend the trend with the recently announced Moto E6.
The $150 device packs a 5.5-inch IPS LCD at 720 x 1440px with an aspect ratio of 18:9, P2i nano water-repellent coating, Snapdragon 435 SoC with octa-core CPU, Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 13 MP and 5 MP cameras, headphone jack, and 3,000 mAh battery.
The Moto E6 also comes with Android Pie out of the box, but that’s pretty standard for a 2019 device.
From regular security patches to Android 10 news — we have curated this piece to make sure you know all about the newly released updates for your Moto E6. So, without further ado, let’s dig in.
Will Moto E6 get Android 10?
Despite being an entry-level smartphone, asking for an Android OS update isn’t much, especially considering how close we’re to the official Android 10 unveiling.
However, if we follow Motorola’s trend, it’d be surprising to see the Android 10 update rolling out for the E6.
Motorola has neither confirmed nor denied Android 10 for Moto E6, yet. Once they publish their list of devices that will get Android 10, things should be clear. But we won’t hold our breath for that.
Why it won’t get Android 10
E6’s predecessor, E5, came with Android Oreo out of the box, but the company never got around to giving it a taste of Android Pie. So, if you’re looking for an entry-level device that’d happily run Android 10, Moto E6 might not be the right choice.
The phone is likely to get regular security updates for the next two years, and maybe a couple of feature-enhancing updates if you’re lucky.
