Its good-bye EDISON and hello Atrix 2 — we know have confirmed reports that Motorola Edison will be launched as Atrix 2 by AT&T, atleast that’s what the printing on the boxes say. though, the official word from AT&T is still a yet to come.
The Atrix 2 will be an android 2.3 device, and will feature a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage (+ 32GB expandable), an 8-megapixel camera with Auto-focus and LED flash. Although this is not confirmed, but it’s said that the Atrix 2 will have 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor with PowerVR SGX 540 GPU.
Motorola has claimed that it will have a long battery life with a talk-time of 8.5hrs and stand-by time of 15.9 days. The Atrix 2 will be a 4G device but if you’re hoping for LTE, you’re out of luck.
Like its predecessor, Atrix 2 will also support Webdock, called lapdock 100 this particular time. It’s 10.1 inches wide (diaginally), thus is a bit shorter than one you found on original Atrix and Droid Bionic — but it’s a good change. Plus, there is also an HD dock, which is okay.
The webdock, called lapdock 100 for Atrix 2, allows phone to serve the purpose of laptop, when connected to it.
