After weeks of rumors, the Motorola Moto Z4 is finally official. The phone was unveiled on May 30th with absolutely zero fanfare, perhaps because it isn’t here to take on the flagship market highlighted by the likes of Samsung Galaxy S10, LG V50 ThinQ, and OnePlus 7 Pro.
As you may have guessed, this is the 4th-generation Moto Z handset and like its predecessors, it’s still keeping up with the Moto Mods. This, essentially, means you’ll be able to enjoy 5G support on this device courtesy of the 5G Moto Mod through Verizon Wireless.
Even better is that the 3.5mm audio jack is back after being ditched since the first-generation Moto Z device. But perhaps more surprising is the return of the single-lens camera on the back, a move that only Google has been able to justify on its Pixel phones.
Motorola is banking on features like Night Vision for better low light photos, optical image stabilization to steady unwanted camera movements, and AI to deliver quality photography even with its single-lens shooter. The Moto Z4 also comes with an OLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports fast charging via a USB-C port.
The Z4 is compatible with all U.S. carriers. B&H, Best Buy, and Amazon will have the unlocked model as from June 6th, but you can pre-order it right now at a price of $499.99. This should also get you a free Moto 360 Moto Mod.
Verizon users will be able to get their hands on the Moto Z4 beginning June 13th for a limited price of $240 as long as the device is activated on a new line. Otherwise, you pay the same price as the unlocked model, with the 5G Moto Mod attracting an extra fee of $199.99.
