Motorola was one of the first to rollout Android 7.0 for its flagship sets when it released the Moto Z Nougat update last month, something which needs to be appreciated as even a company like Samsung is yet to release a stable Nougat update for its Galaxy S7.
Today, a new update is available for the Moto Z sets, based on Android 7.0 Nougat of course, and its fixes the low notification sound issue some of you are experiencing on the 7.0 build. The update is based on Android 7.0 BTW, so it’s not Android 7.1.1 build in case you’re wondering, specially because the 7.1.1 build is in the making too at Motorola, as evidenced by this Moto X Style/Pure leak.
The Nougat update from Motorola for Moto Z carried a build version of NPL25.86-15, and today’s update, build no. NPL25.86-17-3, is an update for those sets only which currently are running before-mentioned Nougat build.
The update runs at around 540MB in size, and is already available as an OTA. To check if your device is eligible for the update, look for the System updates section in Settings.
BTW, the second Nougat OTA update for Moto Z that released today as version NPL25.86-17-3 is also available for download, here. To install, check out the ADB sideload method given at this guide.
