The Moto Z started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update back in December last year in Canada and India. Now, it looks like Motorola is testing the Android 7.1.1 update on the Moto Z.

The device has been spotted running Android 7.1.1 over at GFXBench, as you can see from the screenshot above. Usually, an update is released within a few weeks after it goes under testing. Sometimes it takes longer, and other times it’s just a test and is never released.

Now that Android 7.1.2 is out, Motorola might release an update based on that version. Or we could also get the Android 7.1.1 update for the Moto Z. There’s not a lot of new features in version 7.1.1, and it’s mostly just bug fixes and improvements.

Several other Moto devices have been receiving the Nougat update as well. It was reported earlier this month that the Nougat update for the Moto X series could be delayed till May.
