The Moto X Pure is the US variant of the Moto X Style. This smartphone is almost two years old now and originally came with Android Lollipop. It then received the Marshmallow update, and will soon receive the Nougat update as well.

Several users of the Moto X Pure have received a message asking them to take part in a soak test for new software. This means that Motorola is ready to start testing the Nougat update on the device. But a full public rollout is going to take some more time.

For now, only a few selected users will receive the software update. We’re not sure when the soak test would start, as the company is just rounding up beta testers. Here’s the message some of the users received;

Thanks for your interest in providing fast feedback about the upcoming software opportunity for the Moto X Pure. We rely on feedback from actual end-users to make the final determination about the readiness of our software.

If you decide to take part and if you qualify, you will receive software in advance of most owners. We would appreciate your quick feedback via a private community we will provide. We will also distribute one or more surveys to get your evaluation of the process and the software.

If this sounds good, please confirm that you wish to take part by completing this short registration form. (Although it is a few pages long it should take only a minute or two to complete.)

Thanks!

The message doesn’t really mention that the new software is Android 7.0, but since Motorola has already confirmed that the Moto X Pure will get the update, this has to be it.
