The Moto X Force and the Droid Turbo 2 are next in line for the Motorola Nougat update it seems, as both devices just received clearance for ‘Android N’ update at the Bluetooth SIG. If you ask us, we think the OTA for Nougat would start rolling out by the end of this month or February at the most.

Both these smartphones were built like a tank, with Motorola claiming them to be shatterproof too. But this was before Lenovo took over, and now fans would love to see another shatterproof successor in the making this year with the fate of Motorola’s legacy now remains in the hands of Lenovo.

And given that Lenovo looks to destroy Moto’s stock UI legacy by painting its own custom skin over pure Android like most OEMs do, it seems the days of Google’s Motorola are totally done.

That being said, the update to 7.1.1 shouldn’t be far off as the Moto X Pure and the Moto X Style were spotted running 7.1.1 on GFXbench listings.

The Moto G4 and G4 Plus on the other hand look to be the first Moto variant to be receiving the Nougat update followed by the Moto Z family.
