Update [Nov 29]: Motorola started rolling out Android 9 Pie to the Moto One Power in India on November 17, which should be about the same time the Pie update started rolling out to the standard Moto One that sells in the U.S., UK and other markets outside India. Motorola has already updated both devices’ software update pages to reflect the latest development, so be sure to check your phone’s Settings> System > System updates > Download and install to grab the update if the OTA download notification hasn’t appeared just yet.
Motorola expanded the number of devices in Google’s Android One program with the addition of the Moto One and Moto One Power, the latter of which has been selling in India for a few weeks now.
One of the perks of Android One is the promise of timely software updates and buyers of the Moto One Power are already reaping the rewards. Apparently, Motorola India is already sending notifications to owners of this phone stating that Android 9 Pie will begin rolling out in the next few days. This is good stuff from Motorola, although it’s likely that this will be a soak test, with the full rollout to commence a few weeks later.
