Lenovo-owned Motorola has now released a new software update to its mid-range Moto G5 Plus.
The update arrives with the build NPNS25.137-35-5 and installs the May security patch on the handset.
The company has rolled out the update over-the-air (OTA) already. So, you should receive the notification any time now. If you don’t want to wait, however, head to Settings > About phone > System updates and check for it manually.

Since it’s just a regular Android security patch, the update should be small in terms of size. So, downloading it over mobile data shouldn’t be a problem, but we recommend you to download it over Wi-Fi to avoid unnecessary data charges.
Also, maintain at least 50% charge your handset before installing the update. You don’t want to see your G5 Plus shutting down while in the middle of the installation process, do you?
