Moto G4 Plus is receiving a new firmware update which installs the March security patch on the device. The update is being rolled out over the air.

Arriving as build number NPJS25.93-14.4, the update brings along the monthly security patch update as well regular bug fixes and system enhancements. The update, although a minor one, is highly recommended as it optimizes the security level of your smartphone.

The OTA update may take some time to reach your device. But instead of waiting, if you want to check for it right away, you can do so. Just go over to Settings > About device > System updates. As we always recommend, connect your phone to a WiFi network and get it sufficiently charged before hitting the download button for an uninterrupted installation of the new firmware update.

Moto G4 Plus was launched last year with Android Marshmallow on board. The OS has been bumped up to Android Nougat which we expect will be further upgraded to Android 7.1.1. In fact Motorola has already started works on Android 7.1.1 for Moto G4 Plus.
