More than two months after releasing the Android Nougat update for users of Moto G4 and G4 Plus in India, Motorola is now seeding the update for users in the United States. The Moto G4 and the G4 Plus are great budget phones, and the Nougat update makes them even better.
In the U.S, major carrier Republic Wireless has just started to seed a Maintenance release of Android 7.0 Nougat to the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. This is a soak test, which means that if no issues are found, everyone will get the update.

As of now, the update is being delivered to only a handful of users, and the software build number is NPJ25.93-13. It also installs the December Android security patch on the device. The update is being seeded over-the-air and if you’re lucky, you should see a notification very soon.
Better late than never. The G4 and G4 Plus users in the United States should soon be able to enjoy the Nougat goodness. However, Motorola has already announced the all new Moto G5 and G5 Plus, which should also be available in the U.S. in a few weeks.
