Moto E 2015 is here! The successor to Motorola’s low-end budget phone Moto E made a surprising appearance at US based retailer Best Buy today as an Sprint variant. The device will retail for $99 off-contract.
Moto E 2015 specs are only slightly upgraded from its predecessor, but at that price point we could understand that manufacturers could only do so much. But it should be noted that Moto E 2015 looks more targeted at Android One devices from Google which come under similar price range.
Moto E 2015 specs include a Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2 GHz (probably Snapdragon 200), 1GB RAM, 4.5 inch TFT qHD screen with a display resolution of 540 x 960, 8GB internal storage and a 5MP rear facing camera coupled with a VGA camera on front.
The device also supports 4G LTE networks, which Android One devices doesn’t, giving Moto E 2015 a good win over Android One.
Also, Moto E 2015 will be shipping with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, making it the first device from Motorola to ship with Lollipop.
As for the build of Moto E 2015. It stays largely similar to last year’s design, but Motorola has managed to put the flash ring around camera from Moto X 2014 to the new Moto E as well. Good move.
