Morale Chant is a legendary, general-purpose Inner Way in Where Winds Meet that passively rewards you for staying active in combat. It builds up Yi River stacks whenever you attack or heal, steadily boosting both your physical damage and your healing output, and it works with any weapon or build, making it an easy staple to slot into almost every setup.

How to obtain Morale Chant

In order to obtain the Morale Chant Inner Way, you'll have to submit 10 Morale Chant Pages to unlock it. These pages can be bought from the Weiyang City Merchant Tang Bao found in Blissful Retreat.

Open the in-game menu, go to the Develop tab, navigate to the Inner Way section, select Morale Chant, and press the Comprehend Inner Way button at the bottom right.

How to Breakthrough Morale Chant

To break through Morale Chant to higher tiers, you’ll need Morale Chant: Notes, which can be obtained in several different ways.

Season Shop

Buy Inner Way Note: Chest (up to 30) from the seasonal shop using the current season currency, then open the chests for a chance at Morale Chant: Note.​

Zhao Feiyan’s Warehouse

Purchase Inner Way Note: Chest (up to 20) from Zhao Feiyan’s Warehouse, again opening the chests to roll for Morale Chant: Note.​

Weiyang City Merchant Tang Lun

Directly buy Morale Chant: Note from Tang Lun in Weiyang City, up to 10 copies.​

Once you have enough Morale Chant: Notes, simply go to the Inner Way tab and press the Breakthrough button to reach the next tier.

Morale Chant effects and Breakthrough Tier bonuses

Morale Chant effects
  • When you attack or heal, you have an 80% chance to gain one stack of Yi River.​
  • Each Yi River stack increases your Physical Damage and healing by 1% for 8 seconds, stacking up to 5 times (up to about +5% at full stacks).​
  • The game checks the chance to gain a stack only once every 2 seconds, so you maintain stacks by staying active in combat or healing frequently.
Morale Chant breakthrough tier bonuses
Breakthrough Tier Bonus gained at this tier
Tier 1 Each stack of Yi River increases Physical Penetration by 2, helping your attacks cut through defenses more effectively.
Tier 2 Boosts Physical Attack based on your Solo Mode level, giving a scaling offensive increase as you level up.
Tier 3 Against controlled targets, Yi River’s effect doubles to 2% damage/healing per stack and grants two stacks per trigger, creating huge burst windows.
Tier 4 Yi River application chance becomes 100%, and each stack lasts 12 seconds, making it much easier to maintain max stacks.
Tier 5 Provides an additional 4.6% Direct Critical Rate, resulting in more frequent heavy-hitting crits.
Tier 6 At max Yi River stacks, you automatically perform an extra attack or heal every 10 seconds; triggers twice if the target is controlled.
