If you’ve been practicing your FPS skills in anticipation of the forthcoming fourth edition of Gameloft’s bestselling shooter Modern Combat, looks like you’re gonna have to wait a wee bit longer.

Originally scheduled for a fall release, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is perhaps one of the most anticipated mobile game titles of 2012. The Modern Combat franchise is known for it’s jaw dropping graphics and fast-paced gameplay, in both campaign as well as multiplayer mode.

And with newer devices with larger and higher resolution screens available now, like the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Nexus 4 and the Galaxy Note 2, not to mention the ultra-high resolution Droid DNA and Nexus 10 tablet, Gameloft couldn’t have picked a better time of the year to release Zero Hour.

After a leaked copy of the game made its way out last week, Gameloft seems to have decided to step up its release plans for MC4, and has just announced on its Twitter timeline that Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour will be arriving on iOS on December 6th, 2012, and on Android shortly afterwards. No specific date has been given for Android yet, but we suspect that the wait won’t be for too long. IN the meantime check out this video which shows what its developers have to say about this awesome looking game.
