Today, the Indian based manufacturer Micromax unveiled a new phablet called Micromax Canvas Doodle 4. The device is priced at $149 (Rs 9,499) and it is a basic device with simple specifications suiting its price tag. The device will soon be listed for sale in the country.
The Micromax Canvas Doodle 4 flaunts a 6 inch display with a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582M processor paired with Mali 400 MP2 GPU and 1 GB of RAM.
The Micromax phablet bundles 8 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded further up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. The Canvas Doodle 4 has an 8 MP main snapper at its back and a 2 MP front facer for selfies. It is a dual SIM device that is energized by a 3,000 mAh battery.
In addition to the phablet, Micromax has also unveiled an entry level smartphone called Micromax Unite 3. The Unite 3 has a 4.7 inch display with WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution and it is equipped with a similar processor, storage and RAM as in the Canvas Doodle 4.
The Micromax Unite 3 has an 8 MP main snapper and a 2 MP front facing selfie shooter. It is fueled by a 2,000 mAh battery that should be providing a moderate life to the smartphone. The smartphone is given a price tag of Rs 6,999 (approx. $110). Both the devices are based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box.
