Micromax has announced a new Android tablet called Micromax Canvas Tab P690 for a price of Rs 8,999. The slate will be going on sale in India from June 7.
The Micromax slate is powered by a quad core Intel Atom processor teamed up with 1 GB of RAM. It houses an 8 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat and it will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the future. However, the firm has not specified an exact time frame for the rollout of the update.
The Micromax Canvas Tab P690 packs 8 GB of memory capacity that can be expanded further by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. There is a 5 MP main snapper and a 2 MP front facer onboard the slate. The other aspects of the device are 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a 4,000 mAh battery that will pump up to 180 hours of standby time to the device.
The Micromax tablet will come preloaded with six e-books on Kindle, three months of free premium subscription to Saavn, 1 GB of free data for two months for the Vodafone users and six months free premium subscription to Truecaller, in-app freebies in Angry Birds and Angry Birds Go and one month of free subscription to Hello TV.
