Almost after a year since launching the M5, it appears that the Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is all set to launch its successor, the M6. According to a leak out of Weibo, the Meizu M6 is all to be unveiled on September 25. The September release makes sense too, as the M5 was announced in November last year.

As for the specs, thanks to various leaks and rumors, we have a decent idea of what to expect from the Meizu M6. Starting with the heart of the device, the Meizu M6 is said to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor. We don’t blame you if that sounds familiar since it is the exact same processor powering its predecessor as well. Yep, that’s a let-down.

And that’s not the only thing which the company has retained. The Meizu M6 is also said to be fitted with the same 5.2-inch display with the resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Aww. While Meizu M5 cam in 2GB/3GB variant, the Meizu M6 could be launched in just one variant, the 3GB+32GB combo of RAM and internal storage.

Even the design of the Meizu M6 might not be that different than Meizu M5. We won’t blame you if you don’t find Meizu M6 too exciting, but we hope Meizu is able to surprise us because really, there have not been many convincing leaks about this device so far.
