Meizu has been working on a new smartphone dubbed as the M5s, which has already made its appearance on the certification sites TENAA, 3C as well as on benchmarking site GeekBench. Owing to these, we do know quite a bit, in fact, a lot about the phone’s specsheet. And now we have come across live images of the affordable smartphone leaked via a Chinese source.

The two images show both the front and rear sides of the Meizu M5s phone alongwith the box contents. The image showing the front side reveals the home button at the bottom which probably houses the fingerprint scanner.

The rear image shows the centre-placed camera with LED flash sitting comfortably below it and farther below is the Meizu brand name. In both the images, a box carrying the charging chord can be seen.

As per earlier leaks, the phone should sport 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD Display with corning Gorilla Glass (720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 282 ppi), 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6753 chipset with octa-core Cortex A53 CPU, 3000mAH battery. On the software front, it has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The rear camera, seen in the pic above, is of 13MP resolution while the primary camera is 5MP. It shall come in two options- 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.

Interestingly, Meizu M5s was listed in two different listings on TENAA, as M612Q and M612M with identical specs. This leads us to guess that one’s for global markets while the other for Chinese market.

The Meizu phone was set to release by January-end, which obviously didn’t happen. So, can we expect it to be released during the upcoming MWC event?
