Images of the Huawei Mate 9 Pro have surfaced online today, as we already knew, it sports a curved screen. One can only stop to wonder why it looks so familiar, and it won’t take long to notice that the Mate 9 Pro has an uncanny resemblance to the now-dead Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The leaked Mate 9 Pro gets a good view of the device from almost all angles, although the back isn’t that clear visible in the pic showing the bottom of the device. It looks very similar to S6 and S7 edge, given that the display doesn’t fall at sharp angles like the Note 7.
Huawei had only recently launched its Mate 9 with it’s dual camera setup from Leica, and hardly a week has passed since then and we have already our lot of beautiful Mate 9 Pro pics here. The Mate 9 Pro is expected to ship in December 2016, and if not, then January 2017.
The Mate 9 Pro sports a hardware button up front below the display — a Note 7-like if you want — that would serve as fingerprint sensor. You also have USB type C here, a welcome change.
Though, Mate 9 Pro isn’t the only Note 7 inspired device one can buy today, as Xiaomi moved pretty quickly to launch its Mi Note 2 with curved display too recently, and it’s the main competitor to Note 7 right now.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro Release Date
We expect Huawei to announce the device in November, while the release to follow in December 2017.
