In My Winter Car, the lumber conveyor (firewood cutter) is a handy machine near the woodshed that lets you quickly split logs into firewood using the Kekmet tractor; here’s where to find it and how to hook it up and use it step by step.
Lumber Conveyor Location
The lumber conveyor (firewood cutter) is a standalone machine located just outside the woodshed near the parents’ house in Kesselinperä. It resembles a small industrial wood processor, featuring an input conveyor belt, a cutting head, and an output conveyor that carries split logs away.
You can reach it on foot or drive the Kekmet tractor from the house along the path toward the woodshed; it’s usually easy to spot near the woodpile and chopping block.

How to attach the lumber conveyor to the Kekmet
To use the conveyor, you need to connect it to the Kekmet tractor so the tractor’s engine powers the cutter via the PTO shaft.
Step 1: Position the Kekmet
Drive the Kekmet tractor so its rear is positioned close to the firewood cutter, aligning the PTO shaft with the cutter’s input. Ensure the tractor is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged before getting out.

Step 2: Lower the Rear Hitch
Use the rear hitch lever on the right side of the seat to lower it.

Step 3: Connect the drive shaft
Exit the tractor and walk to the rear near the PTO shaft, then use the interaction prompt “Attach drive shaft" to link the tractor to the firewood cutter.

Step 4: Start the cutter
Return to the Kekmet, start the engine, and engage the PTO lever on the left of the steering wheel to power the firewood cutter.

How to use the lumber conveyor
Once the cutter is powered, you can feed logs and let the machine split them into firewood.
Step 1: Prepare logs
Go to the log pile near the woodshed, pick up a log by holding the interact key, and carry it to the firewood cutter, placing it in the input slot or on the input conveyor.

Step 2: Feed logs into the cutter
With the cutter running, push the log into the cutting mechanism so it’s gripped and pulled in; the machine will split it into smaller pieces and move them along the output conveyor. Continue feeding the log after each cut.

Step 3: Collect the firewood
The split firewood will be deposited into a trailer (if attached) or into a pile near the output end. Pick it up and carry it to your house, garage, or delivery trailer as needed.

Tips for efficient firewood production
- Keep the Kekmet’s engine running at a steady RPM (use the hand throttle if needed) so the cutter works smoothly.
- Always check that the drive shaft is still connected if the cutter suddenly stops; it can sometimes disconnect if the tractor moves.
- Use the conveyor for large batches of firewood, especially when preparing for cold nights or firewood delivery jobs.
Efficient Firewood with the Lumber Conveyor
The lumber conveyor in My Winter Car makes splitting firewood easy when connected to the Kekmet tractor. Simply position the tractor, attach the PTO, and keep feeding logs to quickly produce firewood for heating or jobs.
