Unlike last year, there was no LG G flagship at this year’s MWC, rather, the Korean company gave us a rehash dubbed LG V30S ThinQ.
Just like the name, there are a good number of similarities between the V30S and the OG V30, but the revamped model brings more RAM, storage, new color options as well as a slew of AI-based additions with a close focus on the camera.
LG V30S ThinQ specs and features
As noted, the LG V30S ThinQ, which derives a part of its name from the AI-based ThinQ that debuted at the CES 2018 with a focus on LG’s home appliances, has a good number of similarities with the V30 announced last year.
In fact, everything on the outside remains the same and most stuff on the inside are also unchanged, as you can see below.
Vision AI
According to LG, the V30S ThinQ comes with Vision AI technology that combines three camera features in AI CAM, QLens and Bright Mode to automate and enhance your photography experience. Where AI Cam works by analyzing subjects and recommending the best shooting mode from the eight available, QLens comes in with image recognition abilities by scanning QR codes to enhance your online shopping experience. As for Bright Mode, as you may have guessed, this is meant to improve low-light photography of the LG V30S ThinQ.
Voice AI
The LG V30S ThinQ also integrates Voice AI, allowing users to run apps as well as tweak settings of the device using voice commands. Of course, this will be heavily dependent on the Google Assistant.
LG V30S ThinQ price and availability
LG, as you’d expect, will first release the V30S ThinQ in the local market of South Korea within two weeks. It’s only after that the phone will start selling in other markets across the globe.
Also, the company hasn’t given out any details regarding the pricing, but we should get them immediately the phone goes official this month.
