The LG Optimus G is to be released in Japan sometime in October on NTT DoCoMo, but other than that no other details have yet been announced about it. Now, according to a picture found on Picasa stumbled upon by Blue Ringer Men, the Japanese Optimus G will carry the model number L-02E.
However, according to benchmarks found for the L-02E by Blue Ringer Men, the Optimus G in Japan will carry a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor instead of the quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, which would mean that it would take away the defining feature of the device. Also, the image’s resolution is shown to be only 3 megapixels, which could mean that either the picture wasn’t taken at the full resolution, or that it doesn’t belong to the Optimus G at all.
We’ll be on the lookout for more info on this. With the release date set for October, LG or NTT DoCoMo should come up with an official announcement soon, which will clear all our doubts. There’s no reason for the quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor to be removed, so take this with a huge pinch of salt.
