The LG G2 from year 2013 is way over its 18 months upgrade promise from LG, so chances are really slim that the device would get the Marshmallow update officially from the Korean manufacturer.

However, if you’re up for giving a ride to your device to the world of custom ROMs, you can install Android 6.0 Marshmallow update right this instance on your LG G2 with the unofficial build of CM13 for G2, by developer Rick Roll over at xda.

This unofficial LG G2 CM13 ROM is currently an experimental build, so don’t expect it to be your daily driver yet. Although there aren’t any major bugs known so far on the ROM except for “unknow baseband version on settings”, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there are some major functionality issues present.

The LG G2 CM13 ROM is available for the following variants of the device:

  • AT&T LG G2 D800
  • T-Mobile LG G2 D801
  • Europe LG G2 D802
  • Canada LG G2 D803
  • LG G2 D805 and D806
