Finally, the event we have all been waiting for has arrived with LG making its G4 public at events across New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul. Juno Cho, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said on the eve of the much-anticipated event “We are living up to our promise of innovation for a better life with a fashionable, premium smartphone that is more focused on delivering a balanced user experience that can compete with the best of the best” He further added that “We wanted to give consumers a truly human-centric device that combined the analog sensibilities with technologies that delivered real world performance. From the design to the camera to the display to the UX, this is the most ambitious phone we’ve ever created.”
The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor SoC with a 1.8GHz 64-bit Hexa-Core CPU that is teamed up with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory with expandable storage support up to a whooping 2 TB. The 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440×2560) IPS Quantum display has 538 PPI and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The device features a massive 3000mAh removable battery while on the camera front, we have a 16/8 rear/front combo with extra-large apertures of f/1.8 and f/2.0 respectively. The whole package runs on Android Lollipop layered beneath LG’s most recent UX 4.0 interface.
The G4 is the first device employing the slim arc technology in its build — which refers to a slight curvature along the surface of the device — that according to the company not only offers a better grip but also protection against drops and such. Also, G4 owners will receive an additional 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years.
The device is available in 4 color options, namely Grey, White, Black and Brown while the leather back cover is also there. The price and availability details for the G4 vary from region to region and will be made public once the it hits the global market on the 29th, starting from Korea.
