We already know that a Galaxy S4 has to come out next year, and Samsung has been reportedly working on a new Exynos processor for powering the next Galaxy flagship. Now, the latest rumor says that this new Exynos chipset has been codenamed “Adonis” and will be going into mass production in the first quarter of 2013, just in time for making its way into the Galaxy S4.
As expected, the Exynos Adonis will be a quad-core chipset based on the ARM Cortex-A15 architecture and built on a new 28nm manufacturing process that Samsung is reported to be working on, which will be sure to provide a lot of oomph to the chipset, both performance and power efficiency-wise. Samsung has already proven that their ARM Cortex-A15-based Exynos 5250 chipset in the Nexus 10 (and Google’s Chromebook) is a chipset to be reckoned with, so the Adonis will likely be even more powerful.
No matter what happens though, we can expect the Galaxy S4 to be yet another stunner of a performer.
