What to know
- You must build the Key Registration Device in your hideout to register keys.
- The device requires specific crafting materials: 1 × Circuit Board, 1 × CD Drive, 2 × Metal Plate.
- After registration, keys marked as “permanent” will work without having them in your inventory; some limited-use keys cannot be registered.
- Register keys as soon as you bring them back to base so you free up inventory and ensure access without carrying them.
In Escape from Duckov, you’ll collect many keys that unlock special rooms, loot crates, or other locked locations. Carrying all of them into a raid can clutter your inventory and risk losing them if you die. Fortunately, the Key Registration Device lets you convert certain keys into permanent unlocks—once registered, you no longer need the physical key each raid. Below is a quick overview and then a detailed step-by-step guide on how to register those keys.

Key registration device requirements
You need:
- 1 × Circuit Board
- 1 × CD Drive
- 2 × Metal Plate
Loot these from crates, consoles (especially for electronic parts), and toolboxes.

How to build and use the Key Registration Device
Head to your Bunker’s construction panel and build the Key Registration Device once the blueprint is available.

Return from a raid or find keys in the world. Choose keys you use often or that open high-value locked areas.

Insert the chosen key into the registration device and press the register option. After doing this, the key is consumed but now functions permanently (for keys that support registration).
Check your inventory or key-ring UI for your registered key list. Once registered, you don’t need to bring that key into raids—you’ll still be able to use the lock/unlock without it.

Which keys can’t be registered
Some keys are limited-use (they have a number of uses or a “blue line” icon) and cannot be registered. You’ll still need to carry them manually into raids.

Why you should register keys in Escape from Duckov?
- Frees up inventory space for other loot and gear.
- Eliminates risk of losing a key if you die during a run.
- Ensures you always have access to locked areas without relying on finding the key each raid.
- Saves you from making duplicate purchases of the same key.
Registering keys in Duckov worth it?
Registering keys in Escape from Duckov gives you a tangible advantage: less inventory clutter, fewer lost keys, and consistent access to locked areas without bringing the physical key.
Build the Key Registration Device early, prioritise worthwhile keys, and you’ll streamline your runs and maximise your loot potential. With this mechanism sorted, you can focus more on raid strategy and less on managing keys.
