South Korean smartphone giant Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Exynos variants of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, bringing a couple of Galaxy S10 features to the 2018 flagship.

The update brings more extensive customization options for AR Emoji, adds support for Call and Message Continuity, updates the security patch to July, and reportedly fixes the Night mode camera issue that had been widely reported by users.

Thanks to the addition of Call and Message Continuity, your supported Galaxy tab will now be able to receive calls and messages that pop-up on your Galaxy S9 or S9+, given they are logged into the same Samsung account. The new AR Emoji interface looks neat, and the reworked customizability makes the feature almost identical to the Galaxy S10 lineup.

In Germany, the OTA — G96*FXXU6CSG8 — update weighs in at 533 MB, but that could vary a fraction when it comes to other markets. As it’s an incremental update, it could take a while for your device to get it automatically. To install it manually, go to Settings, select Software Update, and tap Download and install.
