After liberating sections of Teshio Ridge in Ghost of Yotei, you unlock a set of Kitsune Puzzle Boxes, each giving a distinct reward. Soya Port is connected to these activities, offering tough battles and a special charm once you complete its side mission.

Location of the Interesting Box

Teshio Ridge stands out as the hub for all Kitsune Puzzle Box activities. Here, you’ll encounter both regular combat camps and special points of interest like Kitsune Altars and Altars of Reflection.

The Interesting Box can be acquired from the Soya Port quest when rescuing Hachiro. When you reach Teshio Ridge after completing Enomoto's first Kusarigama training, you will be able to unlock the Soya Port.

How to clear Soya Port and get Interesting Box

Soya Port, found on the northern edge of Teshio Ridge, is a short but intense mission. You start it automatically by entering the camp during or right after the main quest "The Kitsune." The job is to eliminate all Nine Tails enemies and free Hachiro, a weaponsmith held at the forge near the docks.​

Step 1

Approach Soya Port from the north after progressing in “The Kitsune.” The environment will shift: look for docks, smoke, and increased patrols.​

Step 2

Enter stealthily from the left side for easier takedowns, targeting archers and swordsmen first.​

Step 3

Find Hachiro by listening for hammering near the central forge. Free him with R2, then keep close as he joins combat.​

Step 4

Complete combat with assistance from your wolf companion, who can help in chain attacks and standoffs.​​

Step 5

Upon clearing the area, collect your main reward: the Charm of Shattering Strike, which upgrades the Kusarigama to break enemy shields with explosive effects.​

Step 6

Find your way to the Altar of Reflection at Soya Port. Bow down and receive the Interesting box lying nearby the altar.

Step 7

Solve the box puzzle as prompted for its associated reward, such as more charms, money, or upgrade items.​ On solving you will receive the Charm of Wary Opponent.

  • Start by moving the grey slider towards the left- moving it with L and grabbing it while holding X.
  • Push the end piece of the box down- grab the end piece with X and push it down by L.
  • Then push the top forward- grab it by X and push it by L.
