The auto-scroll function for Instagram reels, which was seen on the recently launched Instagram app for Fire TV, is now coming to the smartphone app as well. While details are scant, it appears that iPhone users are getting an '"Auto Scroll' option that lets them turn the feature on or off.

To enable or disable it, tap on the three-dot icon in the bottom right corner while watching a reel. Then turn Auto-scroll on or off.

Instagram has been experimenting with Auto-scroll since the middle of 2025. And now it appears the feature is all set to roll out. While we couldn't find the feature on our Android devices, it looks to have made it to the iPhone.

The feature works as titled. When enabled, start watching a reel. As soon as it finishes, the next reel will play automatically. If you're in a mood to binge, this will save you a thumb workout. But it could also keep you glued to the screen for longer. So make sure you use it responsibly.
