In Hytale‘s creative building system, you can construct an impressive pirate ship to boost your adventure across zones, from Emeril coasts to deeper seas. Here’s everything you need to get started.
How to build the pirate ship hull
Due to its size and complexity, the build requires a significant investment in resources and the use of multiple specialized crafting stations to create its various architectural and functional components.
Requirements
Before starting, ensure you have a Builder’s Workbench (Level 2), a Sawmill, and an Iron Anvil. These are necessary to craft the unique curved blocks and metal hardware required for the ship’s design.
Begin near water in a flat area for easy launching.
Step 1: Lay the keel
Place a straight line of 60-70 wood logs end-to-end on the seabed or ground, marking your ship’s length; offset 5 blocks in for center stability.
Step 2: Add ribs
From each keel block, build up 5-7 blocks high every 4-5 blocks along the length, forming a ribcage; connect tops with planks for the base frame.
Step 3: Shape the bottom hull
Fill between ribs with planks and slabs, curving inward at bow (front) by stepping diagonals: 3 up, stair out, repeat for point.
Step 4: Build sides and stern
Raise sides 4 blocks high with planks, sloping outward; at stern, narrow to 3 blocks wide with stairs for a flat deck.
Step 5: Deck and upper structure
Cap with full plank deck; add second layer 3 blocks up, including captain’s cabin at stern using fences for rails.
How to add pirate details and sails
Enhance with barrels, chests, skulls on masts, and trapdoors for cannons. Place 3-4 masts (logs 15 high) centered, top with wool slabs as sails.
Launching and sailing your ship
Push into water or use boats to tow; Hytale’s physics handle buoyancy naturally. Test in creative first to tweak.
