Find Bloodcap Mushrooms

Once you are in an Autumnal Zone, look for sparkling, pinkish-red mushrooms on the ground. These are known as Bloodcap Mushrooms.

How to Harvest Blood Petals

There are two ways to interact with Bloodcap Mushrooms, but only one will give you Blood Petals:

Picking Them Up (yields Bloodcap Mushroom only)

If you simply interact with the mushroom to pick it up, you will add a Bloodcap Mushroom to your inventory.

Using a Hatchet (yields Blood Petals)
