It’s not just making some of the best phones that has propelled Huawei to the number three spot in global smartphone shipments, but the sheer number of phones the company releases every year is also a major contributing factor.
Although the Huawei P20 family is on every Huawei fan’s lips, the company has more in stock to cater for those who can’t afford the big bucks needed for the big boys. One of the phones in question is the Huawei Y6 2018, the successor to last year’s model that was announced in May.
Like you’d expect whenever a device’s launch cycle nears, details of the Huawei Y6 2018 are now upon us, including the expected specs, some features, and even the price, all of which we’ve shared below.

Huawei Y6 2018 specs and features
- 5.7-inch 18:9 HD+ display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor
- 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage
- 13MP main camera and 5MP front camera
- 3000mAh battery

From the leaked specs sheet of the Huawei Y6 2018, the only major changes when compared to the 2017 model are the display design and size, the new Snapdragon 425 chipset in place of the MediaTek MT6737T, and the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. As for the rest of the specs, they remain unchanged from 2017, which is a bit of a disappointment from Huawei.
Huawei Y6 price and availability
It was in May 2017 that the Huawei Y6 was unveiled, but fans had to wait until July to get their hands on the budget phone. The fact that details of the Huawei Y6 2018 have emerged at this point in time could imply that the launch may happen earlier, perhaps in April, but we cannot guarantee this.

Huawei Y6 2017 wasn’t sold in many markets and in the few it managed to reach, it was at times referred to as Huawei Nova Young or Honor 6 Play. It’s possible the story could be the same this year, but from the leaked material, Europe should be one of the destinations for the Huawei Y6 2018.
As far as price is concerned, the Huawei Y6 2018 is said to cost about €149, a figure that is subject to change since it isn’t official.
Those specs are the same as the ZTE Blade X, except that is runs Android 8.0 whereas the ZTE comes with Android 7.1.1
