It looks like the long rumored Huawei Nexus 2016 just made it to the FCC. Sporting model IDs H1622 and H710VL, the devices look all the same and are maybe different variants for the carriers: one could be CDMA, while other could be a GSM unit.
Although there is no official word available, the rumors have been about two Nexus devices only, both made by HTC. But when this silly device appeared out of no where, made by Huawei and denoting the model ID of H1622 — spiritual successor to Nexus 6P’s model ID H1512 — then you can’t help but think of a Nexus 6P successor in the making.
All said and done, we still think HTC would produce two Nexus, while this could only be the Huawei’s Nexus 6P successor, without Google blessing it with a Nexus tag. After all, Huawei has all the rights in the world to produce a Nexus 6P follow-up device, and that could still be a great thing as 6P was one of the best last year.
The new H1622 sports a fingerprint scanner too at the back like the Nexus 6P, but outs the music through bottom speaker, while Nexus 6P sported them up front.
We also have the pics of the device with us, which reveal that new rumored Huawei H1622 looks darn similar to Nexus 6P, but doesn’t sport the Nexus branding. See below.
The said Huawei Nexus 2016 has already cleared WiFi Alliance borders in case you were wondering, so its release is definitely very, very near.
So, what do you guys think?
