HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone maker, is apparently planning to launch a new smartphone under its newly unveiled U-series. The yet-to-be-announced handset is allegedly codenamed as Ocean Life currently and will be made public as the HTC U11 Life by the end of this year.
The smartphone will, of course, come with the company’s Edge Sense feature akin to the HTC U11. In fact, the U11 Life can pretty much be considered as a toned down version of the HTC U11.

To begin with, there will be a 5.2-inch Full HD display at the front with the Snapdragon 630 SoC under-the-hood. The smartphone was earlier rumored to come with the Snapdragon 660 SoC. But, that seems to have changed if the latest rumors are anything to go by.
At this point, there’s no word on the amount of RAM the U11 Life will be getting. As for storage, the smartphone will offer at least 32GB of expandable onboard storage.

For a mid-range phone, the HTC U11 Life is packing is some decent hardware we would say. The SD630 processor is very capable, while the 16MP sensor at front and back should ensure photos and videos are pretty good for this range.
Being an HTC device running stock Android 8.0 build with 3GB of RAM at the minimum, coupled with SD630 chipset, the performance is guaranteed to impress you — although we would reserve our final judgement until full testing.
The Android One program ensures that it would receive Android OS updates regularly, without a hiccup, or delay, which is a cause of major concern for Android devices.
Then, the HTC U11 Life is water and dust resistant too, of the IP67 type, which is good despite being a nary lower than what we see on Galaxy S8 and LG G6 (IP68). The display size at 5.2 inches and battery pack of 2,600mAh looks adequate to serve you well, which is why it looks like a solid mid-range option. Add to that features like Edge Sense and USonic, and you have distinguishing phone compared to other Android One phones like Moto X4.
